A Tip To Teach You How To Adjust The Flow Rate Of A Submersible Sewage Pump Correctly

Aug 10, 2025

Submersible sewage pump is used to tear and cut some common garbage in sewage, similar to the treatment of bags, grass, cloth strips and other substances. It is suitable for the treatment of slippery liquids with special dirt and certain viscosity in sewage in different environments. Often used in scenarios such as sewage pits and sewers. Submersible sewage pumps are highly favored by various industries, and the regulation of their flow rate is a key point that many people attach importance to. Correct regulation can ensure their effectiveness, and there are generally three methods for regulating flow rate:

1. Serial and parallel adjustment methods:

When each submersible sewage pump cannot meet the transportation task, parallel or series operation of submersible sewage pumps can be selected for actual operation. Using two submersible sewage pumps of the same model and specifications in parallel, although the change in tension is not significant, increases the total transport flow, and the overall efficiency of the parallel pumps is the same as that of each pump; When submersible sewage pumps are connected in series, the total tension increases, and the flow rate does not change significantly. The total efficiency of the connected pumps is the same as that of each pump.

2. Change the pipeline characteristic curve diagram:

A very simple way to change the flow rate of a submersible sewage pump is to use the opening degree of the pump inlet and outlet gate valves to control it. Its essence is to change the position of the pipeline characteristic curve to change the working point of the pump.

3. Change the characteristic curve diagram of the submersible sewage pump:

According to the basic laws of proportion and laser cutting, changing the pump speed and pump structure can both modify the characteristic curve of the submersible sewage pump and achieve the goal of adjusting the flow rate. However, for pumps that are already in operation, changing the pump structure is not very convenient, and because changing the pump structure reduces its practicality, although it is economical and convenient to adjust flow in some cases, it is also rarely used in production and manufacturing.

The above only analyzes the ways to change the speed and flow rate of submersible sewage pumps. Adjusting the actual effect is good, convenient, and reliable, which can increase the service life of the sewage pump, save electricity. In addition, reducing the speed operation can also reasonably reduce the cavitation allowance of the submersible sewage pump, eliminate the cavitation zone of the pump, and reduce the probability of cavitation in the submersible sewage pump.
