If there is leakage of horizontal centrifugal pump, what should we do?

1. During the static test, if the leakage is small, it is mostly the problem of the moving ring or the sealing ring of the stationary ring; if the leakage is large, it indicates that there is a problem between the friction pairs of the moving ring and the stationary ring. On the basis of preliminary observation of the leakage and judgment of the leakage position, manually turn and observe. If there is no obvious change in the leakage, there is a problem with the sealing ring of the static and dynamic rings: there is a problem with the friction pair of the dynamic and static rings; Problems such as moving ring seal ring, failure of static ring seal ring, etc. In addition, leakage channels can also exist at the same time.

2. Leakage during test run after static test of mechanical seal for centrifugal pump, centrifugal force generated by high-speed rotation during operation will inhibit medium leakage. Therefore, the elimination of seal failure between shafts and end caps is basically due to the damage of dynamic and static ring friction pairs. Most of them need to be disassembled and replaced.  

3. Sudden leakage during normal operation. The sudden leakage of centrifugal pump during operation is mostly caused by large changes in working conditions or improper operation and maintenance. Evacuation, cavitation or pressure holding for a long time, resulting in seal damage; The actual output of the pump is too small, a large amount of medium circulates in the pump, and heat accumulates, causing medium gasification and seal failure; For long-term shutdown and restart, there is no manual turning, and the friction pair damages the sealing surface due to adhesion; Corrosive, polymeric and gelling substances in the medium increase; Rapid change of ambient temperature, etc.  

For the above leakage conditions, the corresponding solutions shall be selected according to the problems, which can be changed and repaired. It is not allowed to repair the centrifugal pump casually. It is reluctantly allowed to use the centrifugal pump for a period of time, and the overhaul can be carried out only when there are major problems.
