How Is The Air Binding Of The Horizontal Multistage Centrifugal Pump Produced?

The basic principle of the horizontal multistage centrifugal pump is the same as that of the road centrifugal pump. When the motor drives the impeller on the shaft to run at a high speed, the liquid filled in the impeller flows from the center of the impeller along the passage between the blades under the effect of centripetal force. The liquid is thrown around the impeller, because the liquid is affected by the effect of the blades, so that the working pressure and speed are increased at the same time, and it is led to the impeller of the next stage through the flow passage of the guide casing. The impeller and guide casing further increase the kinetic energy of the working pressure of the liquid. After incrementally accumulating each impeller, a consensus is obtained, which lifts the downhole liquid to the road surface.


Therefore, the volute pump casing not only collects the components that discharge the liquid from the impeller, but also is an energy conversion device. When the liquid is thrown from the center of the impeller to the periphery, a low pressure area is generated in the center of the impeller. Under the effect of the total potential difference between the liquid level in the storage tank and the center of the impeller, the liquid is sucked into the center of the impeller. With the continuous operation of the impeller, the liquid is continuously sucked in and discharged. The kinetic energy of the mechanical equipment obtained by the liquid in the horizontal multistage centrifugal pump is mainly manifested as the increase of pressure energy.


It must be emphasized that if the pump casing is not filled with the liquid to be transported before the operation of the horizontal multistage centrifugal pump, because the density of the air is low, the centripetal force formed by the rotation of the impeller is small, and the central area of the impeller cannot generate suction and storage. The low voltage of the liquid in the tank, so even if the centrifugal pump is running, the liquid cannot be transported. This shows that the vertical multistage centrifugal pump has no self-priming working ability, which is called air binding. The purpose of assembling the unilateral pump bottom valve in the suction pipeline is to prevent the liquid poured into the pump casing from being discharged from the casing before operation. Gas from the suction line into the pump casing will cause gas trapping.
