A water ring vacuum pump is a device that uses an internal water ring to create a vacuum area for pumping. Due to the high working intensity of water ring vacuum pumps, equipment wear may occur after long-term operation, among which crankshaft wear is a common type.
The surface wear of the crankshaft journal of the water ring vacuum pump is uneven, and the radial wear of the main journal and the connecting rod journal is mainly elliptical. The wear parts of the water ring vacuum pump correspond to each other, that is, the wear parts of each main journal are close to the connecting rod journal side; And the wear of the connecting rod journal is also close to the main journal side. The crankshaft journal also has conical wear along the axial direction, and the elliptical wear of the journal is caused by uneven distribution of forces acting on the journal along the circumferential direction.

When the water ring vacuum pump engine is working, the comprehensive force acting on the connecting rod journal always acts on the inner side of the connecting rod journal, and the direction is outward along the crankshaft radius, causing wear on the inner side of the connecting rod journal and forming an ellipse. The reason for the wear of the connecting rod journal of the water ring vacuum pump is that the oil passage leading to the connecting rod journal is inclined. Under the action of centrifugal force, mechanical impurities in the lubricating oil accumulate on one side of the connecting rod journal, causing the wear of the connecting rod journal to be conical.

When using a water ring vacuum pump, there may be scratches and burns on the surface of the shaft neck. Scratches are mainly caused by unclean engine oil, in which larger hard mechanical impurities are scratched on the surface of the shaft neck. The burn on the surface of the shaft neck is caused by tile burning, which is mainly due to reasons such as too thin engine oil.
The crankshaft wear problem of water ring vacuum pumps is mainly caused by uneven stress and improper cleaning and maintenance. Because crankshaft wear directly affects the service life of water ring vacuum pump equipment, we must operate the water ring vacuum pump in a standardized manner and regularly maintain and lubricate it to ensure that potential problems do not occur.
