Due to the wear of impurities in the medium, the impeller of the water pump usually has stripe and groove shapes, and some may also be damaged by cavitation. At this time, honeycomb shaped holes will appear on the blades. When the cracks on the surface of the water pump impeller are severe and there are many holes or sand holes, it is due to wear and corrosion that the impeller wall becomes thinner, directly affecting the mechanical strength and overall performance of the impeller.

When the impeller blades of the water pump are damaged by debris or there is severe wear at the inlet of the impeller, the impeller should be replaced. If the impact on the performance of the water pump and the strength of the impeller is not significant, welding repair can be used for repair. After welding repair is completed, use a grinding wheel to polish and balance, and conduct a static balance test. And when replacing the impeller, the entire set should be replaced together and weighed before replacement. Attention should be paid to whether the installation angle of the blades is consistent to avoid vibration during the operation of the water pump.
