Maintenance Precautions For Oil Separators

May 02, 2025

The use of oil separation equipment requires regular inspections, mainly focusing on the following daily maintenance methods
1) A dedicated person should be assigned to manage and use the equipment, and the equipment should be inspected regularly (once a week) to see if the slag removal grid motor can run automatically according to the set time. If there are any problems, they should be reported for repair in a timely manner.
2) Management personnel must regularly clean the grille device to remove debris that falls into the slag collection bucket. Normally, it can be cleaned once every 3 days, but if the usage is high, the slag collection bucket needs to be replaced once a day. Please determine the specific frequency based on the usage situation.
3) Management personnel must regularly replace the oil collection drum. When the oil in the drum reaches 2/3 of its capacity, it must be promptly dealt with to avoid contamination of the equipment site. Generally, the oil drum should be replaced every 3 days, but it should be replaced once a day based on actual usage, such as when the water volume in the compartment is high.
4) When encountering a power outage, the use of equipment should be stopped, that is, the kitchen is prohibited from discharging sewage to avoid environmental pollution on site and the trouble of manual cleaning. In addition, when calling again, it is necessary to observe whether the sewage lifting pump, cutting pump in the sedimentation chamber, and grid motor are operating normally. If the power phase sequence changes, the water pump will reverse, which will prevent the equipment from draining properly.
5) Regularly check each liquid level contact to see if there is any dirt attached and remove it at any time.
6) The equipment pit should be cleaned regularly to keep the equipment running in a dry condition.
