Selection Method Of Deep Well Submersible Pump

Dec 17, 2024

The selection method for deep well pumps is "pump by well", and the flow rate of the selected deep well pump cannot exceed the maximum inflow flow rate of the well. If the flow rate of the selected deep well submersible pump is too high, it will cause a significant decrease in the dynamic water level in the well, increase the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the wellbore, increase the inflow velocity of the wellbore, cause a large amount of sand to surge, clog the inflow pipe, deposit in the well, shorten the service life of the well, and even cause wall collapse and water well scrapping. If the selected water pump flow rate is too small, it cannot fully utilize the benefits of the well. Therefore, the selected pump flow rate should be less than or equal to the maximum water inflow of the well.

The selection method and steps for deep well pumps are as follows.

1. Preliminary selection of water pump

Based on the inner diameter of the well casing, the performance table of the well pump is used to preliminarily select the water pump. If the well diameter is 200mm, the 200QJ series deep well submersible pump can be selected. For ease of installation, for metal tube wells, the diameter can be 50mm larger than the maximum diameter of the well pump, and for non-metal tube wells, the diameter can be 100mm larger than the maximum diameter of the well pump.

2. Select pump type based on the maximum water inflow of the well

Due to the many factors that affect the water inflow of the well, it is difficult to calculate the water inflow, which mainly depends on the water level drop during pumping. A more accurate method is to conduct pumping tests, but in the planning and design stage or in small and medium-sized projects, it is sometimes difficult to conduct pumping tests universally due to limitations in conditions. Therefore, in the absence of pumping test data, a single water level drop pumping test can be used to estimate the maximum water inflow rate of the well.

The one-time water level drop pumping test method (referred to as the one-time drop method) uses relevant data on a stable water level measured during well flushing after completion to estimate.
