The process of pipeline pumps is in place, with complete performance, stable power, and rigorous material selection, making them widely used in various industries. Generally speaking, there are four basic requirements for the material selection of pipeline pumps:
1. It has the physical properties to withstand the stress that occurs during operation
2. Can be efficiently forged into various shapes
3. It has certain performance in corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and cold resistance.
4. It has certain economic benefits.
Should the pipeline pump be made of cast iron or corrosion-resistant material?

When selecting materials for pipeline pumps, consideration should be given to the pump's outlet pressure, liquid temperature, chemical properties, and solid particulate matter. When choosing between cast iron or corrosion-resistant materials, the pipeline pump manufacturer provides the following references:

When extracting non corrosive liquids or general alkaline solutions at room temperature under a working pressure of 4MPa, choose ordinary cast iron. For multi-stage pipeline pumps, the high-speed flow difference can corrode the sliding components between stages, such as the balance plate, so corrosion-resistant alloy parts need to be selected for the sliding components.

When the working pressure exceeds 9MPa, corrosion-resistant materials such as forged steel are often used. For the selection of materials for pump bodies used in chemical corrosion and solid particle abrasion, appropriate materials or suitable liners should be selected for actual operation tests. As wear-resistant materials, hard metal materials and elastic non-metallic materials were generally used in the past. The former includes high chromium cast steel, high manganese cast steel, white cast iron, and nickel chromium cold hard cast iron, while the latter mainly uses thick soft rubber or plastic pasted on metal as lining.
