The Main Factors Affecting The Efficiency Of Fire Pumps

May 14, 2025

1. The fire hydrant water pump control cabinet is not in automatic mode and the indicator light is not on;

2. The valve on the outlet pipe of the fire pump is closed; The pressure gauge is set in the wrong position, downstream of the check valve, and the pressure gauge is not equipped with a buffer protection device; The range of the pressure gauge is less than twice the working pressure;

3. The valve connecting the water pump adapter to the pipeline network is closed;

4. Leakage in the pipeline network, resulting in no water in the pipeline network;

5. The valves at both ends of the branch pipe are closed;

6. The indoor fire hydrant box water hose is aging, the gun head and connector are damaged or missing, the self rescue reel rubber tube is aging, and the ball valve handle is missing;

7. The fire hydrant box has no indication of the usage method of the fire hydrant;

8. The fire hydrant box is locked and cannot be quickly opened;

9. The outlet of the fire hydrant is blocked and cannot be connected to the water hose; The hydrant head is set on the side of the door shaft;

10. The most unfavorable point is that the fire hydrant has no pressure and the dynamic pressure of the fire hydrant does not meet the regulatory requirements;

11. The control cabinet of the stabilizing pump is in manual or stopped state;

12. The outlet valve of the pressure stabilizing system is closed without any obvious indication of opening or closing;

13. Other situations that cause the voltage stabilization system to fail to maintain normal pressure: water pump failure, reverse operation of the water pump, check valve failure, aging of the electrical contact pressure gauge;

14. The water supply valve in the high-level water tank room/fire water tank has been closed, the automatic control device has failed, and the local and remote liquid level display devices and low water level alarm devices are not displayed;

15. The valve selection is unreliable, the valve is not manually closed and opened regularly, and the sealing is not tight after the valve is closed; The valve is not labeled;

16. Pressure reducing water supply system: The pressure reducing valve cannot effectively supply water, cannot effectively reduce pressure, and the flow rate is insufficient; The pressure reducing valve is not equipped with a filter, there are no maintenance gate valves at both ends, there is no pressure test drainage valve and drainage pipeline, or the drainage pipeline specifications do not meet the requirements. There is no safety valve, no backup pressure reducing valve, and the pressure reduction ratio does not meet the regulatory requirements;

17. Outdoor fire hydrants: damaged, missing connectors, missing covers, unable to open, severely corroded, quantity not meeting specifications, installed under glass curtain walls, etc;

18. Outdoor fire hydrant without water: fake fire hydrant;

19. The distance between the outlet of the outdoor underground fire hydrant and the ground is greater than 0.4m or less than the radius of the manhole cover;

20. Automatic exhaust valve not set or failed: there is too much air in the pipeline, and the water pressure is unstable;
