What Is The Function Of The Submersible Pump Bowl

Jul 30, 2024

The guide shell of a submersible pump, also known as a spatial guide vane, is mainly used to change the flow direction of the liquid flowing out of the impeller outlet and transport it to the inlet of the next stage impeller or the outlet of the pump.
Specifically, the submersible pump guide housing has the following key functions:
1. Collection function: Collect the liquid at the impeller outlet to ensure that the liquid can be effectively transported to the next stage or outlet pipeline.
2. Energy Conversion: During the transportation process, the guide shell can convert the velocity energy of the liquid into pressure energy, thereby improving the output efficiency of the pump.
3. Eliminate velocity loop: The flow of liquid in the pump often has velocity loop, which can lead to energy loss. The design of the guide shell helps to eliminate this velocity loop and reduce energy loss.
In addition, for certain specially designed guide shells, such as new space guide vanes, they also adopt specific structures to further optimize performance. For example, the connection between the inner and outer flow lines of the guide vane and the impeller adopts a smooth transition of circular arcs, and the shape of the flow channel changes smoothly, which helps to reduce the flow loss inside the guide vane.

At the same time, the outer streamline of the guide vane outlet is inclined towards the outlet direction, which helps to reduce pressure pulsation and has no adverse effect on the performance of the pump.
In summary, the guide shell of a submersible pump plays a crucial role in its operation. It not only effectively transports liquids, but also improves pump performance and efficiency by converting energy and eliminating velocity loops.
