When a fire occurs, if the water supply system of the fire protection device malfunctions and the water flow is insufficient or the water pressure is low, water is input into the fire pipe network inside the building through the fire pump couplings, thus solving the key problem of insufficient water source and water pressure during the fire. 

The four main functions of the fire pump adapter are:

Firstly, prevent the fire hydrant water pump from being damaged and unable to operate normally, resulting in the inability to provide pressure for firefighting water supply;
Secondly, to prevent insufficient water pressure caused by high building floors, a fire pump adapter can be used to connect the fire truck water supply and provide a larger water lift;
Thirdly, the water pump of the fire truck can be quickly and conveniently connected to the fire equipment inside the building through the interface of the adapter;
Fourth, the fire pump adapter should be used in conjunction with outdoor fire hydrants (i.e. above ground hydrants);
Precautions for installation of fire pump adapter

Firstly, the direction of installation

The installation direction of the fire pump adapter is very important during the installation process, especially the installation direction of the check valve must ensure that water enters the system through the adapter. If several cases are found where the check valve in the fire pump adapter is installed upside down, resulting in the inability to replenish water into the system. The main reason is that the installation personnel and grassroots management personnel are not clear about the role of the fire pump adapter. Therefore, it is necessary to emphasize the installation sequence and direction.

Secondly, the safety valve maintains a constant pressure

When installing the fire pump adapter, the safety valve should be pressurized (the pressure value should be given by the design), and the pressurized system should be able to ensure that the water hydrant at the highest point of the fire hydrant can have a full water column of 10-15 meters.
