Basic Structure And Daily Maintenance Of Submersible Slurry Pump

Aug 19, 2024

Submersible slurry pump is a type of pump capable of transporting high concentration solid particles, commonly used in fields such as wastewater treatment, mineral processing, and coal mining. This type of pump has the advantages of simple structure, easy maintenance, and high reliability, and is therefore widely used in various industrial fields.
Submersible slurry pumps are usually composed of pump casing, impeller, shaft, shaft seal, sealing ring, bearings, packing box, etc. Among them, the pump casing is one of the important components of the submersible slurry pump. It consists of two semi-circular shells, each with four evenly distributed bolt holes for connecting with pipelines. The impeller is the core component of a submersible slurry pump, made of cast iron or bronze, which can generate sufficient centrifugal force to throw the liquid from the center to the surroundings, increase pressure, and increase flow rate. The shaft is usually made of stainless steel or cast iron, which passes through the pump casing and connects the impeller to the rear end cover. Shaft seal is one of the important components of submersible slurry pump, which consists of packing box, packing box, water seal ring, etc., and can effectively prevent liquid leakage. The sealing ring is one of the important components of the submersible slurry pump, which is made of carbon steel or stainless steel and can effectively prevent liquid leakage. Bearings are one of the important components of submersible slurry pumps, consisting of ball bearings and grease lubrication systems, which can reduce friction losses and improve the service life of the pump. The stuffing box is one of the important components of a submersible slurry pump, consisting of a stuffing box, stuffing box, water seal ring, etc., which can effectively prevent liquid leakage.
The working principle of a submersible slurry pump is to use the centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the impeller to throw the liquid from the center to the surrounding areas, increasing pressure and flow rate. When the impeller rotates, the liquid is sucked into the pump and thrown around the pump casing by centrifugal force, which increases the pressure and velocity of the liquid. Then the liquid flows out of the pump through the outlet pipe, completing a cycle.
The advantages of submersible slurry pumps are as follows:
1. Simple structure: The structure of the submersible slurry pump is relatively simple, easy to maintain and repair.
2. Easy to maintain: The submersible slurry pump has fewer components, making it easy to replace and repair.
3. High reliability: The submersible slurry pump has fewer components and undergoes strict quality control, resulting in high reliability.
4. Wide application: Submersible slurry pumps are suitable for various industrial fields, such as sewage treatment, mineral processing, coal, etc.
5. Strong adaptability: Submersible slurry pumps can adapt to various harsh working environments, such as high temperature, low temperature, strong acid, strong alkali, etc.
Submersible slurry pumps are widely used, but proper use is very important. We need to maintain it appropriately during normal use to effectively extend its lifespan and save costs. Let's learn together:
1. Parts that are easily damaged should be replaced in a timely manner, maintained and assembled correctly, with reasonable gap adjustment and no tight friction.
2. Ensure that the pump assembly and piping system are installed correctly, securely, and reliably.
3. The water pressure and volume of the bearing should meet the requirements. The sealing performance of the packing should be adjusted (or replaced) at any time to avoid mud leakage from the shaft seal. Replace the shaft sleeve in a timely manner.
When replacing bearings, it is necessary to ensure that the bearing assembly is free of dust and the lubricating oil is clean. During pump operation, the bearing temperature generally does not exceed 60-650C, and the high temperature does not exceed 750C.
5. Ensure the coaxiality between the motor and the submersible pump, and ensure that the elastic pads inside the coupling are complete and correct. Replace it promptly after damage.
6. The suction pipeline system of the submersible slurry pump is not allowed to leak air. The inlet grille of the pump should meet the particle requirements that the pump can pass through to prevent large particles or long fiber materials from entering the pump and causing blockage.
