The base of temporary or mobile water pump units is generally made of hard and non perishable square wood such as oak, pine, locust, or elm (10 cm X 15 cm or more), or a combination of pre cast cement columns.
According to the matching and manufacturing materials of the stainless steel submersible pump and motor, the temporary base can be made into two types: integral or separate. The integrated design consumes a lot of wood, but it is easy to install and move.
Separate type can be free from wood restrictions and save materials, but it is inconvenient to install and move, and it is also difficult to fix and adjust. It is suitable for places where the center distance of the belt drive is large. Attention should also be paid to the quality of temporary bases. To ensure a secure and reliable installation, the square timber under the wooden raft should be buried underground and wooden stakes should be driven at the four corners of the raft to fix the pump body.
At present, centrifugal pump products are divided into two types: base and no base.
To install a small water pump with a base, first hang the base onto the base, install the ground bolt, adjust the position of the base, and then use a level to place it on the machined surface of the base to check its levelness.
Wedge shaped pad iron or thin iron sheet can be added under the base occasionally. The purpose of the pad iron is to increase the stability of the water pump on the base and facilitate secondary grouting.
After aligning and leveling the base, tighten the anchor bolts. Place the shim on both sides of the anchor bolt, at a distance of 1-2 times the diameter of the anchor bolt. It is not suitable to be too far or too close. The pad iron must be stable, and the number of pads in each pile should not exceed 3 to avoid sliding or bouncing.
After tightening the anchor bolts, their levelness should be rechecked. Only when they meet the requirements can cement mortar be used to fill the bottom of the machine base for secondary grouting. After the cement mortar solidifies, install the water pump. Install a large water pump without a base. First, clean and dry the poured cement base, lift the water pump onto the base, and then insert the anchor bolts. Then, install it according to the following methods and steps.
(1) Align the water pump
The purpose of aligning the water pump is to ensure that the centerline and axis of the inlet and outlet of the water pump are completely consistent with the corresponding centerline specified during the pouring of the concrete base of the water pump, in order to coordinate with the motor.
The method to find the right one is:
Using the vertical and horizontal centerlines as the standard, hang two perpendicular lines on each of the vertical and horizontal centerlines in the air, and move the water pump so that its inlet and outlet centerlines coincide with the perpendicular lines hung on the axis.
In the process of aligning the work, if it is found that the anchor bolts are incorrect, or the anchor bolt holes of the water pump itself do not meet the requirements of the user manual drawings, the bolt holes do not match the bolts, or there is no room for movement after alignment, appropriate measures must be taken, such as enlarging the anchor bolt holes of the water pump, tapping the bolts, etc., to ensure that the alignment error of the water pump does not exceed the specified value.
When aligning a cantilever single-stage centrifugal pump, the same method can be used to align the axis line. It should be noted that the center of the water pump outlet should conform to the installation position of the designed outlet pipe.
(2) Find the level
The purpose of finding a horizontal position is to make the water pump shaft horizontal and the inlet and outlet flange faces of the water pump vertical, ensuring correct connection with the inlet and outlet pipes.
Water pump square finding method:
When leveling a small centrifugal pump, place a level ruler against the flange faces of the pump inlet and outlet and the end face of the shaft end against the back wheel. Use a wedge-shaped iron block to adjust the height of the pump so that the horizontal bubbles are centered.
