(1) Main components of single-stage centrifugal pump: pump casing
There are two types of pump casings: axial split and radial split. Most single-stage centrifugal pumps have a volute casing, while multi-stage centrifugal pumps typically have a radial split casing that is annular or circular. Generally, the inner cavity of a snail shell pump is designed as a spiral flow channel to collect the liquid flowing out of the impeller and guide it to the diffusion pipe to the pump outlet. The pump casing bears all the working pressure and the thermal load of the liquid.
(2) Main components of single-stage centrifugal pump: impeller
The impeller is the only working component, and the pump works on the liquid through the impeller. There are three structural types of impellers: closed, open, and semi open. A closed impeller consists of blades, a front cover plate, and a rear cover plate. A semi open impeller consists of blades and a rear cover plate. Open impellers only have blades and no front or rear cover plates. Closed impellers have higher efficiency, while open impellers have lower efficiency
(3) Main components of single-stage centrifugal pump: sealing ring
The function of the sealing ring is to prevent internal and external leakage of the pump. The sealing ring is made of wear-resistant material and is embedded on the front and rear cover plates of the impeller and the pump casing. It can be replaced after wear.
(4) Main components of single-stage centrifugal pump: shaft and bearings
One end of the pump shaft is fixed with an impeller, and the other end is equipped with a coupling. According to the size of the pump, rolling bearings and sliding bearings can be selected as bearings.
(5) Main components of single-stage centrifugal pump: shaft seal
There are generally two types of shaft seals: mechanical seals and packing seals. Generally, pumps are designed to accommodate both packing seals and mechanical seals.
