How To Adjust The Impeller Clearance Of Slurry Pump

Oct 19, 2024

The frequent use of slurry pumps can cause the gap between the impeller and the front guard plate to widen due to vibration, rust, and other reasons, thereby affecting the normal operation of the pump. So it is necessary to adjust the clearance of the impeller every once in a while to ensure the stable operation of the pump. Below, Shijiazhuang Panshi Pump Industry will teach you how to adjust the impeller clearance.
1. Stop the pump, loosen the bolts that hold down the bearing components, tighten the nuts on the adjustment bolts to move the bearing components forward, and rotate the shaft by hand in the direction of pump rotation until the impeller rubs against the front guard plate.
2. The submersible slurry pump with rubber lining needs to adjust the nut on the bolt to move the bearing assembly of the pump forward first, so that the impeller contacts the front sheath, and then move the bearing assembly backward, so that the impeller contacts the rear sheath. Measure the movement distance of the bearing assembly, and take this distance as the gap between the impeller and the front and rear sheaths. Then adjust the position of the bearing assembly with the adjusting bolt to ensure the correct gap value between the impeller and the front and rear sheaths.
3. After adjusting the slurry pump, it is recommended to recheck whether the impeller rotates normally and whether the bearing assembly clamping bolts and adjustment bolts are tightened before starting the equipment again.
After adjusting the clearance between the impeller and front guard plate of the slurry pump through the above methods, professional technicians from the slurry pump manufacturer suggest cleaning and lubricating various components to make it operate more flexibly and avoid rusting and corrosion.
